A Guide to the Equality Act for Disabled Learners

This guide helps to break down the complex legislation that exists in the UK to protect disabled people from being discriminated against. Legislation means it is part of the law. Discrimination is when someone with a ‘protected characteristic’ is treated less favourably or unfavourably. Being disabled is a protected characteristic in this law. The law is called, ‘The Equality Act’.
