Paid Temporary Roles for Disabled Students

Lead Scotland runs the only national disabled students’ helpline and information service in Scotland. We create free online guides and factsheets on a variety of topics related to accessing and participating in post school education as a disabled person. We would like to create some new factsheets in co-production with a group of disabled students. It is important that the information we are providing is shaped and informed by the experiences of the people accessing that information. 

We are therefore looking to recruit either current or recently graduated disabled students to help us co-produce these new factsheets. You can be studying at either college or university at any level and must be studying in Scotland. You should have the capacity to work up to five hours per week for eight weeks, starting from the week beginning Monday 30th January. We will pay £20 per hour and payment will be on the production of an invoice, so you must be comfortable working on a self employed basis. This is a simple process, and we can provide advice and invoice templates if required.  

You should self-identify as disabled (you do not need to provide evidence of a diagnosis) and be comfortable working in groups and independently. Your tasks will involve team discussions to design your project, reading and researching current online information as well as developing and writing content for the new factsheets. We’d like you to be able to reflect on your own experiences as a disabled student when developing the factsheets.
