New Digital Progression Project

LEAD SCOTLAND EXPANDS LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE NORTH OF SCOTLAND

Following this afternoon’s announcement by the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government Aileen Campbell MSP, Lead Scotland is excited to launch a significant new project in the North of Scotland.

The Digital Progression Project is part financed by the European Social Fund and Scottish Government under the Social Economy Growth Fund.  The project will grow and increase the services within Lead Scotland to tackle poverty and inequality by supporting disabled people and carers who experience exclusion.

Lead Scotland’s Chief Executive Officer, Emma Whitelock, says, “Too many disabled people and carers lack confidence and digital skills.  This project will provide an important catalyst for people to take a leap of faith, develop skills, gain accreditation and in time take up positions at the helm of decision making within communities”.

Through this project Lead Scotland will make a range of formal, non-formal and informal learning opportunities available across a wide range of courses up to SCQF level 6.  Lead Scotland expects to work with disabled people, carers, those experiencing barriers to education, Community Learning and Development Practitioners and organisations who work to support disabled people in their communities.
